Huge Contest and Celebration!

This is slightly (Only slightly) belated as I was away at camp, wanted to post pics and stuff but here we are! 

Celebrating 100 Followers of Treble Clef

I know that we have 102 right now, but this specifically celebrates reaching 100- A big feat. So what am I doing to celebrate? A writing contest with lots of great prizes!

I know that many of you out there are writers, we all are really because look! We're posting stories and things on our blogs every day. So what are the rules for this awesome contest? I'll tell you.

-It must be a story of some sort. Sorry- no poems please!-

-It must be within 500 and 2000 words to achieve maximum points-

-It should show good character development and a variety of characters-

-Spelling and grammar! 1/2 a point off for each spelling/grammar mistake. Have someone else check your work!-

-Plot and theme. Your character should have to overcome an adversity or have an epiphany during the story-

Those are the rules, now lets see how everything will be judged:

This contest begins today, June 8th and will end at midnight on June 16. Judging will take place on the 17th and results will be posted on the 18th.

There will be 4 judges- each being able to award the maximum of 100 points. The judges are myself and the 3 other members of my immediate family. (me, XanFan, bwk, and my dad)

Breakdown of points:

(Each judge will use this scale)

Length (500-2000 words) - 10 points

Spelling and grammar (1/2 point off for every mistake) - 15 points

Character development and variety - 20 points

Plot and theme (Main character overcomes adversity or has epiphany) - 25 points

Now you may notice that that only adds up to 70. You'll want to do these 4 other things to be able to get full marks!

Follow Treble Clef - 5 points

Put Treble Clef's button on your blog - 5 points

Put the contest button on your blog - 10 points

Do a post about the contest - 10 points

Four judges, 100 points each equals a total of 400 points. 

How to enter:

It's easy! Write your story (or find one that you've already written) and post it on your blog. Then comment back on THIS post with the direct link to the post with your story.

Prizes:

1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be awarded. They will be the people with the most out of the 400 points.

A special award and their story featured on Anecdote.

2nd place wins:

A special award, their story featured on Anecdote and a blog makeover done by Amanda over at Chicken Scratch Designs!

1st place wins:

A special award, their story featured on Anecdote AND a custom blog look from Awel Prince at Inspired Designs and Shilah!
