An Ending And Reflection

I just can't believe that today it will be over! So much has changed since the beginning of this year. At first I hated my math teacher and thought the others were OK, but now it's pretty much the opposite. And I've just learned so much. I've excelled in math. I got my trumpet. I learned what truly makes a good teacher and a bad teacher. Just look at how wonderful this blog has become! I felt pride when I finished my novel. I can speak French pretty well now. I've learned to live, really live. I combated swine flu. I polished my dream. I learned clarinet and mallet percussion. I joined the high school marching band. Friends and social groups morphed and changed a bit. I learned to say goodbye. It's been an interesting year, and that's for sure! And well, I've still got today. A day filled with a fun field trip with my class during the day and goodbyes and graduation in the afternoon and evening. It's a good way to end it.

For the love of Friday's

BEST DAY OF THE WEEK. Just saying. In the grand scheme of things today was pretty fun. Before homeroom, me and Bella and Elránia were walking around and the 7th graders who are going to Peak's with us were practicing so we stood outside and were just being ridiculous by marching/dancing to their music. Was fun :) After I got home (i.e. just now) I took some data...on how much everything I carry into school on Monday/out of school on Friday weighs. Here are the results:

Laptop- 7lbs

Well, after some complaining and grumbling on the subject I finally got my first lesson on clarinet playing from my band director. And you know what? IT WASN'T AN EPIC FAIL. Yep, that's right. I really didn't do that bad after all! Of course, it does have it's troubles, like the reed breaking, and getting used to a new embouchure etc., but it's great fun! I can't take it home yet because my director only has 1 extra mouthpiece, but a new one should be arriving very soon, and then I can bring it home. EXCITING!

But now it's homework time. Anyone have a good idea for an invention that would help people?

Miscellaneous

Yeah, random post coming up. I'll start off talking about yesterday. Yesterday afternoon Bella came over and we went sledding. There has been this HUGE snowstorm coming through and it hasn't stopped yet, so the sledding was good. It was really cold and windy, but we were able to make it through a whole hour of fun.

Today I went to church, and I really enjoyed the sermon. There were so few people there because of the storm, so that was really cool. This afternoon I have to transpose a piece of music and clean out my closet. A REAL chore. I actually think that I will try the Horsefeathers Closet Project approach. At least, that might make it a little more fun. :) And then......tomorrow we go back to school. Darn. It's been a nice vacation. BUT........I start clarinet tomorrow, so that is one good thing.
