A (Hacked) Happy Birthday

Shhh... this is Olivia from HorseFeathers. I've hacked into Sally's blog to do her birthday post.

Sally, girl, I know you've already read your birthday card and all, but I'd like to give your followers a little rundown: Sally and I met three years ago, when we were both on the sixth grade swim team. I, being a horrible child, told her that her birthday present was that I wouldn't splash her... I lied.

I've always bemoaned the fact that she will forever be a year older than I — fifteen already? What happened to the days of Warriors and Mrs. Crimson? (That was her name, right? Our GT English teacher?)

You see, o followers of Sally, we really met four years ago, but we kind of despised each other. I don't even remember why, but we did.

Anyway. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SALLY! Everyone who reads this, please do comment, as a birthday surprise for Sally. :)

xoxo
Olivia

Happy 15th (to me!)

As this post hits the blog at exactly 12:34 (notice the one-two-three four? pretty cool) I will be sitting in math class. Yay. At this moment, I will also turn fifteen. So what can I say? Happy birthday to me :)

Birthday Part One

Tomorrow is my 15th birthday!!!!
I'm really excited despite the annoying fact that it's the first day back to school after our lovely vacation. Anyway. Yesterday, four friends, Anna, Lucy, Isabella and Hannah, came over to celebrate a bit. We had a very good, but extremely LOUD (*cough* lucy *cough* anna *cough*) time.
Here are some pictures:

First, my mom made me a very very yummy chocolate and mint chocolate glazed cake, upon my request...er...demand. Of course, once the cake was all baked and cooled, I just had to do some decorating...in treble clef fashion.

After dinner we played a great game of Apples to Apples, and wonders of wonders....look what won THIS round:

Isabella ended up winning overall with Hannah coming in second. We had fun :)

Today i'm going to go and see the movie True Grit with Olivia, and tomorrow it's back to school.
Yuck.

in which i recount five days of awesomeness

First I'd like to say THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU to Olivia @ Horsefeathers for this amazing new design. It's beautiful, although the button is still the old one. Oh well :)

Anyways, this post is going to be in pictures recounting my awesome Saddleback trip. We brought my friend Lucy, and our other friend Anna met us up there yesterday, and XanFan who I'll just refer to as X, met his friends Seb and Finn up there as well.
So firstly, I'll show you the screen shots of my facebook statuses that I was able to post using my mom's iPhone and then get ready for lots of pics :)

This is Larry....he's Lucy and X's jazz band mascot.

Larry in my ski helmet :)

Walter, Lucy's amazing penguin hat.

The view from Red Devil

Another view.
Lucy on Red Devil.

At the top of the mountain, from left to right, me, Lucy, X, Finn, and Seb.

In the Intimidator glades.

Glades are so pretty!

And so much fun to ski too!

This was another great glade that we skied.

Looking back at the pass before heading into the woods.

The boys would like me to stop taking pictures now and start skiing.

But I had to take just one more....

That's me, master of the double diamonds!

Larry at the top of the mountain.

Because Lucy and I are SO totally expert....
Lucy and my mom work their way down the top of Tight Line.
And we decide to sit down and rest.

What can I say? The views are stunning!

Lucy has the best pajamas...

At the very very very top.
Again, STUNNING.

It was an awesome week :)

Tag From Random Rawr

I love this tag that I got from Random Rawr! It's a lot of fun :)

You Favourite:
Color? Ahhh, I usually say green, but it really depends on the day. Right now I'm feeling sort of feeling like medium blues and grays.
Candy? Probably every type of candy.
Main Dish? Oh, I love so many! In the wintertime, I really enjoy soups and my favorite is a really yummy bean chili.
Dessert? Really decadent chocolate things.
Drink? This amazing Italian soda called a Limonata. SO GOOD.
Go to Starbucks Coffee? No, if I have coffe it's from home or from the cafeteria.
Veggie? I really like most veggies, can olives and mushrooms count as my favorites?

Do You:
Talk on the phone everyday to someone who is not family? Uh, depends. I don't talk on the phone that much.

When I can, in other words, when I'm not bogged down by the evilness of homework.
See your grandparents everyday? Not everyday, sadly.
Bake a lot? No, but when I do it usually turns out really good!

Eat out? On occasion. There's a great Mexican place near here that we'll go to sometimes, and there's an amazing entirely vegan restaurant nearby too, that my aunt and uncle are taking me to as a birthday present for the second year in a row which I can't wait for. There's also an awesome Italian place up near Saddleback that we'll go to probably twice this week.

Now, I Long For Summer

It's that time of year again. The time of year when I'm sick of being cold, I'm tired of school, and would just like winter to hurry up and end already.
Of course, I'd like the snow to stick around (at least up north) for another week for our annual skiing trip to Saddleback, (YAY!!!), and it would be nice if it was snowy on my birthday, the 28th, but after that?
The snow can go and leave, and time needs to skip to April vacation, so there's not a lot of school left.
And it's warm for once.
Another thing that's made me wish for summer is that yesterday, Pilgrim Lodge signups opened, and naturally I pestered my parents into signing me up last night.
This makes me long for summer even more.
So basically, I want to be here next week:
(not my images)

And then immediately after....I'd like to be here:

(Also not my images)

Oh Please...

Goodness gracious I need a break. No, not from blogger, I just got off that break, but a break from the regular, tiring, day to day work.
Thankfully, February vacation is fast approaching.
Unfortunately, Friday at 1:50pm can NOT come soon enough.
I need a break from getting up at five-thirty.
I need some just easy relaxing time- my last three weekends can't even be considered weekends.

I need a week without bio homework.
A week without getting yelled at in band.
A week without taking notes in history.
A week without gym torture.
A week without the english class that makes me want to rip my hair out.
A week without passé composé in french.
A week without tedious geometry proofs.
Yes, I could really use a week off.

I need a week filled with skiing up at Saddleback,
spending the day, carving up the slopes,
taking stunning pictures from the top,
drinking hot chocolate by a huge fireplace,
conquering the awesome terrain park,
doing moguls with XanFan and his friend.
And the nights, spent in comfy sweatpants and cozy shirts,
eating hot pasta and pizza at a local restaurant,
doing some arranging on my laptop,
playing board games with the family.

And the weekends filled with friends,
and no homework to be done,
maybe hanging with Hannah Marie and our friend Serena this weekend,
before heading up north, and when we return,
a couple of fun-filled days before we return to school,
on my 15th birthday.

Oh, how I wish it was Friday, instead of only Tuesday!
Oh how I long for vacation!

OK....Now what?

'tomorrow we'll discover what our god in heaven has in store. one more dawn, one more day, one day more!' ~ one day more (les misérables)

Over the past month, my life had been totally consumed with the production of Les Misérables. But last night was our final show, last night we cleaned up and packed away the pit, last night we tore down the set, last night we partied for the last time.
But this whole experience has just been SO incredibly amazing for me. It was awesome playing each show, hitting all those stratospherically high notes every time, and getting to watch the whole show. Now, I just can't wait to get my DVD!
I must say, it was very sad, so much that by the end most of the cast and pit were crying as everyone was dead.
I REALLY wish that I could upload a video from youtube that shows several clips from the show so you could see it. Unfortunately, it has the name of my high school at the end and i don't know how to blur it out. Grrrr.

But this now brings me to a weird place. You see, from August through October marching band ruled my life. From the end of November to now, musical did.

Now I'm not quite sure what to DO with myself....
One thing I know I'm going to be doing is get back to blogging! I missed you guys but I needed the break during the craziness of Les Mis was over.

I'm pretty sure that's all I wanted to say on that...LOL.

'do you hear the people sing? say, do you hear the distant drums? it is the future that they bring when tomorrow comes....tomorrow comes!' ~ finale (les misérables)
