Here Comes The Sun

Jocee at the Cupcake Dictionary is having a blog party! It's perfect because it's called the 'Here Comes The Sun: Blog Party' and then sun has finally been out and shining brightly these past few days around here.

So link up, it's going to be a lot of fun and to participate in some of it I'm going to do her little question/answer thingy.

• What would your dream summer vacation be? Personally I love my summer vacations already because I get to spend them doing some of the things that I love most, being at Pilgrim Lodge, band camp and marching band :)
• After a rainstorm, what you think of when you see the sun peeking out from the clouds? Usually I'm like 'THANK GOODNESS. It's rained far to long, now let's have some SUN!'
• If you were stranded on a desert island with the sun streaming down on you and had ONE palm tree for shade, you can only have three things with you; what would they be? Well, since I'm a logical person, I would have a BIG container filled with drinking water, that could also catch rainfall, I would have a giant beach umbrella that would shade me from the sun and that I could huddle under in the rain, and I would also have a fishing line so I could catch something to eat.
• Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or neapolitan? Well, considering I'm a terrible decision maker, neapolitan. 
• If you saw your celebrity crush walking down the beach with a surfboard, what would you do? Uh...faint? I don't even HAVE a celebrity crush... 
• If you went back in time for a day, what era would you go back to, and why? Sally no like these questions....Sally like where she live now....
• What's your favorite thing about waking up on a summer morning? NO SCHOOL!!!!! YAY!
• Your soundtrack or theme song(s) for the summer: for the summer? The marching band show! So basically, my soundtrack for this summer will be National Treasure.
• Say you went to California to visit family. What's the first thing you would buy? Well, since it's hot in California, and I'm addicted to ice cream, I would buy ice cream.
• Manicure, pedicure, or facial? Pedicure. Things get scraped off my fingernails too easily.
• What's your favorite color combination? I enjoy a soft green, blue and yellow, or a bright red, black and white.
• If you were at the beach and you wanted to write a message in the sand, what would you write? I do like drawing in the sand but I don't usually write anything, I just draw treble clefs. If I was going to write something I would probably have no inspiration whatsoever and end up writing something lame like 'Sally was here.'
• You're stuck in Paris with $10,000. What do you do? Ahh Paris....I miss it so much. From my experience there, I would probably blow it all on baguette and crêpes and pastries and chocolate......
• What's your most favorite type of summer weather? When it's early evening and the worst of the heat is gone and it's not very humid and there's just a slight breeze and the scent of sweet grass and barbecue flots through the air.
• Blowing bubbles while taking a bubble bath? Uh...YES. That sounds awesome.
• Cupcakes or dictionaries? What kind of a question IS this? CUPCAKES!!!!!!!!

Heehee, that was fun. I guess I'm off now to ready my trumpet and trombone, we've got out spring concert tonight and I think it should go really well!

C is for Celebration

I am enjoying this whole A-Z blogging thing. It's a lot of fun!

C is for celebration.

And speaking of celebrations, Olivia over at Horsefeathers in celebrating over five hundreds followers with an excellent giveaway and blog party. Part of this celebration is to have everyone answer a few questions. Here are my answers:

Favorite season, and why?

I love fall. There are so many reasons why I love fall, so many i dedicated a whole post to one hundred of them! Read it HERE.

How would you describe your personal style?

Like fashion? Well, I'm a flip-flops and converse kind of girl when it comes to shoes. I live in various pairs of jeans picked up from Goodwill, and my tops tend to be cute but not flashy. Goodwill is the amazing store for me. I also seem to have a lot of black, not because I'm goth, but for performance wear norm. I have very little nice stuff that ISN'T black, or that isn't a white top. Hmm....

Jewelry is worn everyday and always consists of one purple pancreatic cancer awareness bracelet, a silver treble clef necklace (or two), and silver treble clef earrings.

What's one weird thing you can do? (The stranger the better!)

Well, this is kinda weird. I like to read lying on my couch, and often I'm listening to a CD or the radio while I do so. When I do this, I hold my book with my hands obviously, but involuntarily my feet conduct to the music. It's weird.

Rain or shine?

Usually I like the sun but I do love the occasional rainy day :)

Confession time... what's a flaw of yours?

Ugh. Auditions. No matter how well I've prepared, I'm usually a complete wreak. I'm usually a lot better at auditions when the audition music is something that I chose, rather than an assigned piece however.

Favorite music?

Sally, the music geek, loves just music in general.

You've just won an unlimited lifetime supply of... what?

Oh! Instrument repairs and tune-ups! Those can be so $$$$. Or biofreeze. That would be lovely as well.

If you were an animal, what would you be?

Either some sort of fish or a tiger. I lean towards tiger though.

If you knew you were going to die in a year, what would you do with your time?

Hmm. That's a good one. Spend a lot of time with my friends and family and play trumpet until the very end.

You're now a gazillionaire... where do you go to spend your money?

Lots of pretty high end instruments and such....and all their accessories. I'm such a BAND GEEK.

Classical music: love it or hate it?

Being the music geek I am, it would be hypocritical to hate such a big and important genre of music. Is it my favorite? Not to listen to necessarily, but I do play a lot of classical pieces. I consider classical trumpet playing a real challenge and art when done well.

Phobias?

Bears. *shivers* TERRIFIED of bears. Other fears?

Color? Ahhh, I usually say green, but it really depends on the day. Right now I'm feeling sort of feeling like medium blues and grays.
Candy? Probably every type of candy.
Main Dish? Oh, I love so many! In the wintertime, I really enjoy soups and my favorite is a really yummy bean chili.
Dessert? Really decadent chocolate things.
Drink? This amazing Italian soda called a Limonata. SO GOOD.

Bake a lot? No, but when I do it usually turns out really good!
Clean your room everyday? I keep it pretty clean anyways so there's no need. Now my closet on the other hand....

There's a great Mexican place near here that we'll go to sometimes, and there's an amazing entirely vegan restaurant nearby too, that my aunt and uncle are taking me to as a birthday present for the second year in a row which I can't wait for. There's also an awesome Italian place up near Saddleback that we'll go to probably twice this week.
Go visit? Usually family.
Read a good book at? Home on the couch.
What color is your room? Light sky blue, with CLOUDS.

1) If you were stranded on an island and you could only order take out once, what restaurant would you order from? Ohhh. I probably would order on of the awesome foot-long veggie delight from Subway. Yum!

3) What was your favorite TV show when you were three? Favorite TV show? I have no idea.

7) Are you a rush, rush, rush kinda person, or do you stop and smell the roses? I can be both at times. Like at school when I have to get to my next class, I rush, rush, rush. But on walks and hikes I like to stop and smell the roses! As a person, I try to be the stop and smell the roses type.

(8.Would you rather share a bedroom with an elk, or with someone who is constantly screaming in their sleep?  The elk. Probably quieter :P
 
9.What is your ideal job (mother, doctor, teacher, missionary, etc)? As I have mention *several* times before, I want to continue my life with music and become a band director.
 
10.Would you rather watch nothing but a show called "The Purple Ponies to the Rescue" for the rest of your life, or nothing but horror shows? Purple Ponies......Elránia and I were watching Titanic (a great movie) and I couldn't even bear to watch the heart pounding race from the water at the end. 
 
11. What's your favorite school subject? Ummmmm. Band. Duh. Though I LOVE my honors biology class this year too :)

12.Would you rather live in a normal house, but with bricks for a bed, or live on a really neat playground with a normal bed? A playground!

20) What is the one stuffed animal you own that you wish you could have as a pet? So I had this awesome alligator stuffed animal that had a puppet mouth (I recall using it to bite my very mean bus driver one year actually...) And her name was Baby Gator, although she was sometimes Princess too. Anyway, it was my favorite stuffed animal and it would be cool to have this little gator roaming the house.

21) If you were a famous fashion designer, what type of clothes would you design? No idea. I don't plan for that to be my career anyway.

I like what I have a lot. It's a really nice dark brown, but sometimes when the sunlight hits it just right, it shimmers all coppery. <3

I really want to go to France, and luckily that dream is going to come true in April!

2. How many siblings do you have? 1 brother and a couple friends who I WISH were my sisters :)
