Promotion

Bye bye mallets. It was nice to know you. Yes you were fun and a little challenging during the whole 10 minutes I got to play you. But alas, I have been promoted. Here is a little conversation that happened before we really got started between me (CC) and my band director (BD)

BD- Cornet Crazie, you can read bass clef right?

CC- (having fun banging on mallets) What? Oh....uh huh

BD- Then let me show you how to turn on the keyboard bass

CC- (still banging on mallets) Ummmm......why?

BD- So you can play it

CC- I thought I was playing mallets

BD- Just let me show you.

CC- Okaaaaaaaay

BD- You're the only rhythm section person who I trust with electric stuff

So.....I've ended up playing bass. Too bad I don't know how to play REAL bass. That would be fun :)

2nd week of training jazz

I know what you're thinking. WHY DOES THE CORNET CRAZIE HAVE TO DO TRAINING JAZZ??? SHE'S A TOP TRUMPET IN PERFORMANCE!!! Yes, that is true (and I am playing my new trumpet in jazz now. Sounds better than the cornet with jazz) but see, training is good when you are doing it with a new instrument. I tried it on trombone but I was already waaaaaay past that level of playing. So I took up mallets/vibes. Soooo much fun and I get to bang on my instrument. I'm crazy. This is what I play now-

This weekend I have two marching band finals. My state (MBDA show) and region (NESBA show) So I'm going to be very busy and will not be able to post much. But Emma I will post your tag later today! I just don't have the time now.

Honors Auditions

Today we had honors band and chorus auditions!!!!!!!!! I tried out on cornet (of course), Elránia on clarinet, Bella on flute and Super Gato tried out for chorus as a soprano. Personally I think I did really well, but that's up to the judge to decide! Can't wait to get the results in a couple weeks!

Ocean Bubbles

I'm in workshop. My homework is done. There's time to spare.......time to start playing with Acorn. This is my product, which I call 'Ocean Bubbles'. It's actually kind of cool, and took a lot of work. Really. Time to go grab my stuff from my locker. Yeah. Bye.

POEM CONTEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. First there were so many contests going on and now there are none! So I am going to change that. This is the second contest on Treble Clef and this is a poem contest. Now there are a few rules so listen up.

Yesterday, I... went to first training jazz (not that I NEED it) and I am going to be playing mallets in it! WA-HOO!

I'm excited for... the new all top 8th graders jazz ensemble!

I'm sad because... today's show got canceled... :`(

I'm hungry for... My bagel and muffin

I love... that my teachers in my school were really nice on Wednesday when I had to be taken to the hospital, etc.

Random noun #2

Today we will be exploring 2 random nouns. I am sitting in workshop and I asked Bella and Elránia for random nouns. I am going to start with Elránia's. She gave me the word sword.

Swords can be very interesting. They can be long handled, short, broad, etc. As Eldenwen, I carry a long handled sword. Hahahahahahahaha. LOL.

My second noun is from Bella. It is umbrella. I find umbrellas intriguing. Did you know that they were invented to protect from the hurtful stares of the sun god.

I'm bored. I really didn't feel like writing more than that.

School Scare

Ugh. Today has NOT been my day. It started out well, but OH BOY, it did not last.

10:30- Bella, Elránia and I just got out of science (la science) and headed off to health (la santé)

10:40- Class is underway when I start coughing. I go out into the hall to relieve myself of this asthmatic problem.

10:55- I am still coughing and a teacher comes to take me downstairs.

11:05- I am still coughing downstairs while several teachers are anxiously standing around. They call an ambulance.

11:12- The ambulance arrives and they come in to take vital signs and give me an albutaral treatment

11:20- They take me to the hospital

1:30- I am released from the hospital after almost dying from sheer boredom and lack of food.

So that was my day. Not fun..........

En Français

Moi, dans la salle de classe 213, Français. Avec Madame Schmearer. Trés, trés amusante classe et la prof drôle et juste un peu folle.

(I am in classroom 213, French. With Ms. Schmearer. Very very fun class and the teacher is funny and just a little crazy)

It's.......................SNOWING!?!?!?!?!?!?

Yes. It's true. October 18th.

I am at church playing Halloween games while babysitting a bunch of kids. A parent comes up and says that they are done and we can come down for dessert. We eat and are just fooling around when one kid yells:

It's Snowing!!!!!

So yeah. Snow. And it's coming down fairly hard too. LOL. October 18th and there's snow on the ground. I've seen it in late November, but NOT the middle of October!!!

Ouch! That's my toe!

Well, I might have mentioned that back in September, I stubbed my toe on my bedroom door. Yeah, most of you probably don't want to start your day with me screaming at 6 o'clock in the morning. So anyway, I was going to go to the foot doctor yesterday thinking that my toe wasn't broken because it didn't show up on the first x-ray. But then a kid stomped on my foot yesterday. Good-bye no-broken-bone-record. New x-rays show an L-shaped fracture on my smallest toe. OUCH!

First: The 2 Trombones! The top one is XanFan's and the bottom one is mine. Mine is REALLY old.

This is my cousin's old trumpet. I was going to use this for marching band but I decided against it. But now, XanFan has decided to try and play it! LOL. Now I'm giving him both trumpet and trombone lessons.

Day and Haunted Hayride

So I've had a good day. XanFan had 2 soccer games and between them we went apple picking. The orchard was HUGE and cool and had an AWESOMELY AWESOME corn maze.

When we got back home, me, Super Gato, Bella and our friend HJ, went on the haunted hayride in a nearby town. It was so cool and lame-o creepy and awesome. Yeah I'm tired so I think I'll just end this now. Bye.

Jazz and a wicked thunderstorm

So, sorry for not posting in homeroom. Mrs. Barry was a little late getting the results up and I was just being lazy all Friday and Saturday, I guess. Anyway, I have the same spot as last year, which I am very happy about. Who cares about the melody when you can have the almost melody AND all the solos. So yay!

Last night our show had to be indoors which was fine 'cause it had been raining all day. But, when we were almost done with awards it REALLY started to downpour. We got soaked running to the buses. Then, when we had just left, the lightning started. So here we are, a wicked thunderstorm that stays on top of us the whole way home, driving on streets that are rivers, in a pitch black bus. It was NOT a fun ride. We were hydroplaning all over the place and I was soooo happy when my mom and I finally drove into our garage.

NECAP

Ugh...................... Don't you hate those common assessments that everybody in the state has to do that take up 3 hours a day and are tediously annoying. NECAP's: we started them today. The reading part was really really easy. We'll be taking the reading 2 soon. I liked the MEA's better though. NECAP. What an awful name!
